Our Story

Emmer School was founded in 2018 with the goal of bringing bilingual education to the Florence area. Marzia Emmer, the founder, is a pedagogist who graduated from the University of Florence and has been working for many years in early childhood education and educational services. In 1997, she opened her first nursery in Florence, becoming the founder of the “Il Koalanurseries. For over twenty years, she has been involved in the national training of educators and teachers in the psychopedagogical field. She has served as a school principal in various private schools across Tuscany, specializing in bilingual education.

Emmer School was born not only from the desire to offer children a place filled with stimulating experiential opportunities, but also from the dream of creating a school that places the child — with their needs and abilities — at the center of educational focus and action.
The Emmer School team has built a school where experience comes before knowledge, while remaining deeply connected to it, embracing bilingualism and Montessori principles.
Today, Emmer School is a women-led organization made up of Italian and native-speaking teachers, a school principal, administrative staff, and office personnel.
